The Ministry of Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna, has announced the arrest of a 40-year old man for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl in the state, IgbereTV reports.
The suspect, Musa Hassan was arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command.
The Ministry said in a statement that the suspect brutally raped the victim and left her in a pool of her own blood during the attack in Unguwan Shanu.
The young girl is said to be receiving treatment at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.
The ministry also assured that the victim will receive the required support to go through the disturbing experience while investigations are being conducted.
It was also disclosed in the statement that the incident will be handled alongside similar cases, with support from the Ministry of Justice ‘to ensure the effective application of the state’s criminal justice procedure & Kaduna State Penal Code (Amendment) Law 2020.’
The ministry wrote on its Twitter handle:
“15/11/2020 – 40-year old Musa Hassan has been arrested by the @CIVILDEFENDERS kaduna at the instance of MHSSD for the alleged rape of a 13-year old.The victim who was brutally raped and left in a pool of her own blood has been granted care at BDTH.”

& the Ministry will see to it that the victim gets all the required support to go through this disturbing experience.”

This was revealed by the former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Hon. Bernard Allotey Jacobs on Asempa FM where he called on Ghanaians to remember him in prayers.
According to him, the young girl who has been identified as Sitsofe was travelling with her mother when the sad incident occured.
Koku Anyidoho also took to his social media to comfort himself following this tragic incident to his family.
So far, a lot of well wishers have called on him to mourn for his loss.
