The Federal Government has come out with the claim that a total of 476 websites have been set up predominantly with the aim of publishing fake news and slander reports about President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.
The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, said this on Monday when he received officials of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Alhaji Lai Mohammed bemoaned the latest fake publication about the mental health of the president and his mental capability to rule the country.
“Recently, we unveiled almost 476 publication sites that are dedicated to daily engaging in churning out fake news to fight the government,” he said.
