Aminu Bello Masari,The Kaduna State Governor has stated that 99 per cent of bandits killing and kidnapping indigenes in his state are from Zamfara state.
Katsina which is the home state of President Buhari has witnessed several attacks from bandits. Youths in the state have taken to the streets on several occasions to protest the incessant killings carried out by bandits.
Speaking with journalists in Funtua over the weekend, Governor Masari said three major local Government Areas namely Sabwa, Dandume, and Faskari that share common boundaries with Zamfara, have become the epicenter for banditry activities in the state.
While calling on security agencies to act fast and help restore peace in the state, Governor Masari said;
”The nefarious activities of bandits from Zamfara had truncated the efforts of my administration in restoring normalcy in the state. The only places that we are having problems are Faskari, Sabwa, and Dandume Local Governments but all other local governments in the state, especially Jibia, Batsari, Safana and Danmusa there is relative peace.
From the reports, I receive every morning if you find any case of rustling or kidnapping is mostly around Faskari, Sabwa, and Dandume. We have been complaining to the military authority to take full control of Gurbi-Gidan Jaja-Kaura Namoda areas of Zamfara State.
Unless security is fully reinforced in these areas, being the danger zone where most of the bandits live and move freely, we cannot secure Katsina without security in Zamfara, because 99 percent of all the attacks and kidnappings happening in Katsina were from Zamfara.”
The lawyer of an EndSARS protester arrested by the police has raised alarm, accusing the police of engaging in malpractice.
This comes after an #EndSARS protester, Eromosele Adene was ‘secretly’ moved to the Yaba Magistrate Court in Lagos on Monday by the police who asked the court to allow it detain the protester for an extra 30 days
According to Punch, the policemen had last week arrested Eromosele in Ikeja and taken him to the police command headquarters and then transferred him to the Area F Command before detaining him at the SCID, Panti. He was last Monday flown to Abuja and detained for seven days before being brought back to Lagos on Sunday.
However, rather than charge him, the policemen secretly approached a Magistrate, O.A Salau, without the consent of his lawyer and applied for a remand order to detain him for an extra 30 days.
Eromosele’s lawyer, Mr. Tunde Jinadu, who was at the SCID, was told by policemen that his client was no longer in custody.
However, Jinadu immediately received word from concerned persons about what the police were up to.
Speaking with The PUNCH, he said, “We were not served. We were not called that he was being brought to SCID. An ACP told me they didn’t know where he was. This sharp practice of the police needs to stop. They just wanted to shut us out. That was how they flew him to Abuja last week without my knowledge.
“Luckily, some good people informed me that he (Eromosele) had been taken to a magistrate court. Thank God I have a car. I was able to quickly arrive at the court.”
On arrival at the court, the policemen were said to have been shocked and wondered how the lawyer was able to get information on what was happening.
The lawyer added, “The police asked the magistrate for an order to remand him for 30 days despite the fact that he had already spent 12 days in their custody.
“We tendered a medical report from Eko Hospital as regards the liver complication and immune system and we made an oral application for bail. And we notified the magistrate that he (Eromosele) had been moved from one detention facility to the other and one state to the other.”
The magistrate subsequently fixed the ruling for Tuesday.
One person has been feared dead after a vehicle climbed a pedestrian bridge at the Shogunle end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
It was gathered that the incident, which happened around 12am on Sunday, left several others injured.
A clip of the incident, posted on an Instagram platform, Instablog9ja, showed residents making frantic efforts to rescue the victims.
The person who recorded the clip claimed that the occupants of the vehicle were on their way to a party when the incident happened.
He said, “The person who drove the car is a learner. The owner of the car gave it to his friend that was a learner. They were high and going for a party, and while driving carelessly, the driver left the road and bumped into the pedestrian bridge and it went up like that.
“It was not up to two minutes that I left the spot that this incident happened and the sound I heard was not a normal sound and when I got back, I saw what happened, with head scattered on the floor.”
The Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Nosa Okunbor, and the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, did not take their calls, which rang out several times.

Sara who was spotted with Regina Daniels in Abuja over the weekend, has also been seen chilling in the pool in Ned Nwoko’s house and also cruising cars Regina Daniels uses as seen in now-deleted videos which she (Sara) shared on her Instastory.
