Supporters in some areas of England will be allowed to return to football stadiums next month under plans announced by the UK Government.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed the government’s latest set of measures designed to limit the spread of Covid-19 on Monday, offering a look at what the plan will be for football supporters going forward.

He confirmed that the four-week national lockdown in England will end on Wednesday December 2 and will be replaced by a new three-tiered system.

The number of supporters allowed into stadiums, if any, will depend on what tier a club’s stadium is placed in.

Stadiums in areas placed in tier 1 will be permitted to hold 4,000 socially distanced fans or half of their maximum capacity, whichever is fewer.

The venues listed in areas placed in tier 2 will be able to hold 2,000 socially distanced fans orhalf of their maximum capacity, whichever is fewer.

And then stadiums in areas placed in tier 3 will have to continue to hold events behind closed doors.

The government is expected to announce what tiers each area will be placed in on Thursday.

“Fans have been greatly missed at Premier League matches and therefore we welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement today regarding the return of supporters for the first time since March, albeit at small numbers,” the Premier League said in a statement.

“Our ambition remains to work with Government to increase attendance to more substantial levels. Until this can be done, many fans will be unable to attend games and our clubs will continue to operate matches at a financial loss.

“Our priority continues to be the agreement of a roadmap, with DCMS and the Sports Technology and Innovation Group, for pilot events that can help our clubs quickly scale up to larger capacities in line with the Sports Ground Safety Authority’s COVID-secure guidelines and beyond.

“Premier League clubs have a proven track record of achieving high-biosecurity standards and we believe we can play a significant role in the Government’s rapid turnaround testing initiative.

“We look forward to working with Government on their next steps.”

Supporters have been unable to attend football matches in England since the top levels of the sport were suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic in March.

Professional football was able to return in June, but behind closed doors.

Infamous Cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Anu Adepoju has been suspended from the medical profession in Nigeria following multiple cases of botched surgeries at her clinic, Med Contour.

A number of women who went to Med Contour for cosmetic surgery complained about having complications that they still suffer from and it was reported that one particular patient eventually died after being operated upon by Dr Anu.

Earlier this year, LUTH petitioned the medical panel following the death of the victim of Dr Anu’s procedure who died after being transferred to its hospital.

Dr Anu was dragged to court in July 2020 when the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, arraigned her before Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court, Lagos, over her services which allegedly resulted in the death of Nneka.

She has now been suspended from the medical profession in Nigeria and, according to popular medical doctor, Dr Olufunmilayo.

Olufumilayo wrote on Twitter ;

“Dr. Anu of Med Contour has now been suspended from the medical profession in Nigeria. Remember her viral story was all over social media when Omohtee said she ruined her buttocks. Dr Anu was alleged of also killing a beauty queen in 2018 who she did surgery on.

“Dr. Anuoluwapo Olufunmi Adepoju has been suspended from the medical profession in Nigeria with effect from 5th November 2020. The suspension Order was issued by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel pursuant to powers conferred on it by s15(3)c of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act Cap M8 LFN 2004.

“She graduated from College of Medicine Unilag 2017. By December 2018 she carried out a Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery procedure on a patient who developed complications and went on to die from the complications.

“She was a House Officer when she carried out the procedure. Her suspension is till further notice. It is pending the determination of the case by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.”

“If you read the Dr Anu story earlier this year on Twitter, this is to confirm she has now been suspended from medical practice. She only graduated from The College of Medicine UniLag 2017. Then she did butt enlargement operation on a beauty queen in 2018. Sadly the patient died.”

“Some people say ‘well Dr Anu can practice elsewhere even if suspended in Nigeria’ Actually NO. She cannot. As a Nigerian-trained doctor, To work anywhere in the world, You need a ‘Certificate of Good Standing’ from Medical Council, Nigeria. And you can’t get that if suspended.”
