Education Minister, Yaw Adutwium believes it is out of order for Achimota School to decide singularly to appeal the court’s ruling on the Rastafarian boys.

According to him, the Board of Governors of the school can not take such a delicate decision since it is not in their place to do so.

Speaking on Metro TV’s late-night show, Good Evening Ghana, Yaw Adutwum fumed and expressed surprise at the decision by the school to appeal the High Court’s ruling and has warned that such a move is a wrong one.

“I am very surprised, the Board cannot take that unilateral position to go back to court. The Boards of High Schools are constituted by the Minister. Instructions for the running of the schools are provided by the Director General of the Ghana Education Service.

“I am waiting for the full briefing of the Attorney General. I am meeting with the Headmistress of Achimota School and the Board for a decision to be made, he said

But it appears the Achimota school is bent on exhausting all legal means at their disposal to ensure that these Rastafarian students do not get admitted.
