Arsenal news and gossip is coming in thick and fast and Sportarena is on hand to bring you all the very latest from Emirates stadium.
Inter Milan chief gives Arsenal hope on Eriksen front
Christian Eriksen’s future at San Siro appears to be on shaky group, with the Ex-Spur playmaker falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.
The 28-year-old Denmark international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A side with both Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly interested in bring him back to England.
Erisken, who moved to San Siro last January, is likely to leave the club in winter transfer window, as new Inter chief Beppe Marotta has been little direct progress towards his exit.
‘Conte has already spoken about it thoroughly. I can just add that we do not certainly have to force a player to stay when he asks to leave,’ Marotta told DAZN, as quoted by Sky Sports.
‘We will have to evaluate the situation. Now he is available for Conte, who has been making him play in [Eriksen’s] respect and in the club’s respect.
‘Up to now, we have not received any request from Eriksen, but at the right time we will try to find the right combinations.’
Dominik Szoboszlai sets timeline to decide on future
RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has been on the radar of Arsenal for some time, but the Gunners aren’t the only club looking to sign him.
German side RB Leipzig have also been linked with the 20-year-old attacking midfielder, as have a number of clubs in Italy’s Serie A including Napoli and AC Milan.
And according to The Inside Futbol though, Dominik Szoboszlai will wait until after the conclusion of this season’s Champions League group stage before determining his future.
Dominik Szoboszlai has scored twice for the Austrian champions in their three group games, but they currently sit bottom of Group A after drawing with Lokomotiv Moscow and losing to Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Szoboszlai, who has been operating in a left-sided midfield role, has netted five times and provided nine assists from 14 appearances in all competitions this season, including two goals in three Champions League games.
This comes after his stellar 2019/20 campaign yielded 12 goals and 18 assists from 40 appearances.
Dominik Szoboszlai has racked up 12 senior Hungary appearances after making his international debut as an 18-year-old in March 2019.
Isco’s agent opens up on Spaniard’s next move
Isco looks set to leave Santiago Bernabeu sooner rather than later after struggling for minutes under Zinedine Zidane this season, starting just three games since the start of the campaign.
The Spaniard playmaker could even move as early as January, if comments from his father and agent Paco Alarcon are anything to go by.
‘Right now we have not received offers, but he wants to try another league,’ Alarcon told El Larguero, alerting Arsenal and any other potential interested parties.
While Isco’s father said it would be ‘no problem’ if his son stays in Madrid until the summer, a lack of minutes could harm the player’s chances of making Spain’s squad for next summer’s European Championship.
The 28-year-old played in all four of his country’s games at the 2018 World Cup, but his last Spanish cap came in June 2019.
With Mikel Arteta’s side return to action on Thursday in the Europa League game against Molde, starlet Bukayo Saka, Willian is doubt for the clash.
Before both Saka and Willian suffered an injury problem in Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Leeds, Mikel Arteta was already without a plethora of names for the trip to West Yorkshire.
With that in mind, there is a round-up of all the very latest Arsenal injury news and those all important expected return dates ahead Molde clash.
Summer signing Willian was forced at half-time against Leeds on Sunday – and it was not for tactical reasons.
After the game, Mikel Arteta comfirmed that the Brazilian winger had felt a slight niggle in the first 45 minutes and did not want to run the risk of him participating in the second-half and making the prproblem worse, meaning he doubt for Molde clash.
Having featured three times for England over the recent international break, Saka would have been hoping for the chance to catch his breathe against Leeds United.
However, the 19-year-old academy graduate was called into action just six minutes into the second-half, being forced to come on and cover for Nicolas Pepe, who was sent off.
However, the starlet didn’t finish the contest as he came off worse in a 50-50 challenge and suffered a blow to his knee. Arsenal have yet to issue an update on the severity of the problem – meaning he doubt for Thursday encounter with Molde.
Latest on Partey, Elneny, Sead Kolasinac
Thomas Partey, who was hauled off in the Gunners defeated to Aston Villa before the international break due to the strain, missed their latest clash against Leeds.
And is likely to miss Thursday’s encounter with Molde but is expected to return to action this weekend when Mikel Arteta’s side clash with Wolverhampton Wanderer at Emirates stadium.
Both Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac will also be absent after testing positive for coronavirus recently.
Both players are understood to be asymptomatic and contracted the virus while on duty with their nations.
Defender Kolasinac’s positive result was revealedon Wednesday by the Bosnian FA, with Elneny sidelined and forced to quarantine two days prior.
Media personality, Tolu Demuren alias Toolz, has narrated how she and the members of her household tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
The on-air personality, in a string of tweets, mentioned that she was mainly concerned about her two children but fortunately, they did not contract the virus. Toolz also revealed that they have all fully recovered in her home.
In her words;
“Feeling super thankful to God today! This time last month, we were going through a very scary period! Almost everyone in our house (including myself) tested positive for Covid-19.
I was just about to return to work after my maternity, and it all started with Captain complaining of ‘malaria-like’ symptoms. He had them for a few days, and didn’t seem to get any better…so we ended up taking him to hospital.
He had taken a Covid-19 test a few days before which was negative, so I thought it was a bad case of malaria. He was admitted with malaria and a bacterial infection we were told. After being given intravenous antibiotics and other meds he still wasn’t getting better.
I decided to move him to a different hospital, and they tested again, and he ‘blew up’ the test according to the doctor. My body went cold, and my first thought was ‘OMG the babies!!’. Then a short while later, I thought about myself. I did a rapid test, and it was positive.
Neither of us initially had the common symptoms- no coughing, no breathing issues…although I later lost my smell and taste. Captain was in hospital for a week and this was around the time of the Lekki shooting, so I was doubly terrified.
My main fear was the babies…especially our youngest son as he was just about 3 months old. We didn’t test them, but I was certain they had Covid too as we literally kiss and cuddle our boys every day. The doctor assured us that they wouldn’t be affected.
Thank God the doctor was right, other than a sneeze here & there, our babies were perfectly fine. I was generally ok too, just scared. Once you get that positive result, you get all these random symptoms you didn’t have before. My back would hurt…I’d be like hmmm corona oo
The weirdest thing was the taste and smell thing. Everything Captain had tasted bad, he’s a foodie so that was strange. One of my super powers is my sense of smell…and it just gradually faded. I actually put a bottle of bleach under my nose one day and…nothing.
I kept waiting to fall ill, and it didn’t happen. I started thinking I had indaboski blood, but then I had 2 days where I felt like I had the worst hangover in the world, then there was some fatigue, but I was generally ok.
Captain on the other hand felt super rundown, couldn’t keep food down, had cramping all over and a bunch of other symptoms. After a week, he came back home, and we finished our isolation period together.
After 2 weeks we all retested and were all thankfully Negative. Thanks to Almighty God for seeing us through, a big thank you to the doctors that looked after us… especially Dr Majekodunmi of Eurocare for the constant reassurance, and for taking my a million and one calls.
I’m super thankful I didn’t get it while I was pregnant. Imagine I travelled to have my baby, came back, did a 7 covid tests, and it was the 8th that was positive. The craziest thing was that a week before I legit told someone that there’s Covid in Lagos anymore. Silly me”, she concluded.
A Nigerian man, Kosi Ugo, who is also a blogger, has taken to social media and alleged that Nollywood actor, Williams Uchemba, who recently got married is gay.
Recall that Williams and his bride, Brunella Oscar, recently got married in luxurious Church and traditional wedding ceremonies which took place last week and two weeks ago respectively.
Kosi Ugo took to his Facebook page on Tuesday and alleged that Williams is homosexual and he does not understand “why a man who is strictly into men would pick one innocent woman and marry”.
In a now deleted post, the blogger said, just like Nollywood actor, Ken Erics, that Uchemba’s marriage is dead on arrival.
He also added that anyone who does not know that Williams is gay “is late to the party”.
Nevertheless, reports have it that the blogger temporarily deactivated his Facebook account when Nigerians began trooping to his page to drag him.
Kosi Ugo wrote on Facebook, “What I can never bring myself to understand is why a man who is strictly into men will go and pick one innocent woman and marry, for what bikonu?
It’s better your wife deals with a side chick than to deal with a side cock; where she wan start from?
“My husband is cheating on me with another man.”
This Uche Williams marriage is dead on arrival. It’s only a matter of time his wife will come out crying like that of Ken Eric’s.
By the way, if you don’t know that Uche is gay, you’re very late to the party.”
Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the allegation, while some noded in affirmation wondering why they have never seen Williams with a lady before, others insisted he is just a private person who wished to keep his relationship away from social media until due time.
