Arsenal news and gossip is coming in thick and fast and Sportarena is on hand to bring you all the very latest from Emirates stadium.

Arsenal interested in Fabio Vieira

Arsenal are reportedly positioned themselves in bid to landing FC Porto sensation Fabio Vieira, according to reports in Portugal via the Daily Mail.

Viera, 20, has now established himself as part of the Portuguese club’s first-team and has made seven league appearances since the start of the season.

The attacking midfielder has been also monitoring by Juventus, but Gunners have reportedly positioned themselves in win race about landing the 20-year-old, who has a £27m release clause in his current contract.

Norwich prepared for Emi Buendia bids

Norwich City are reportedly prepared for any bids coming in for attacking midfielder Emi Buendia, who has scored six goal and contributed six assist across all competitions so far this season.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been monitoring by Mikel Arteta’s side since the Canaries were relegated back down to the Championship.

However, according to Sky Sport, claim the Championship side are already identified the potential replacement in case Mikel Arteta’s side launch a bid for Argentine playmaker in January.

It stated that the current championship leaders value the 23-year-old around £25million.

Hertha eye permanent Matteo Guendouzi deal

Hertha Berlin are interested in signing on-loan Arsenal central midfielder Matteo Guendouzi on a permanent deal, according to Der Tagesspiegel via talkSPORT.

Guendouzi moved to the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan deal after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta towards the latter stages of last season.

However, the 21-year-old has re-established himself in Germany and Hertha are now keen on making the temporary deal a permanent one, it has been claimed.

The Frenchman still has a contract at the Emirates Stadium that runs until 2022, which does mean that the Gunners could look to sell him or risk losing him on a free at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Barca to launch £22m Hector Bellerin bid if Joan Laporta wins election

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta reportedly plans to make a £22million bid to sign defender Hector Bellerin from Arsenal if his campaign succeeds.

Laporta is running for re-election after previously holding the position of president at Nou Camp between 2003 and 2010.

He is currently considered the frontrunner to be elected in January, and according to the Mirror, the 58-year-old wants to bring Hector Bellerin back to Catalan club.

The defender departed Barcelona for Arsenal as a youth player in 2011, and sources claim an agreement has been reached between Laporta and Bellerin’s representatives to negotiate a return.

A transfer fee of around £22million with add-ons has been mentioned, but Bellerin is determined not to leave in January, so the move would have to wait until next summer.

The 25-year-old has a contract until 2023 at the Emirates, but is open to the idea of returning to his boyhood club next summer.

Arsenal board still back Mikel Arteta future at the club

Arsenal’s board are reportedly still in interested in services of Mikel Arteta as head coach of the club despite the north London struggled in Premier League this season.

Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Goodison Park made it seven Premier League games without a win for Mikel Arteta’s side, as the club linger around the relegation places heading towards Christmas.

The Spaniard’s job is under pressure with discontent growing among supporters, but Arsenal board are reportedly still believe Arteta will turn things around for them.

Meanwhile, club icon Ian Wright says that the club’s hierarchy must support Mikel Arteta by bringing in new players in January.

‘I think they’ve come out and backed him – and rightly so, he’s a good coach – and they’re going to have to have to do something for him in January,’ Wright told DAZN.

‘I think with the current players he’s got – I’m not saying Arsenal are going to go down, of course I’m not saying that – if you can’t arrest that slide, you will get dragged in.

‘And then you’re going to be under real pressure to get yourselves out of it, then people have to perform to a certain level to get yourselves out of it.

‘Because other teams can smell that blood and they will go for you. It’s a very ruthless league.’
