Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi has appealed to the government not to take the threat by the kidnappers of students of Greenfield University, Kaduna lightly. The cleric during an interview with AIT explained that the bandits need the money so they can provide for themselves.
He explained that the bandits don’t leave a luxurious life as they live in huts, and have nothing to hold. He explained that herdsmen have gone through a lot and the government has failed to listen to their plight or provide anything for them to make their lives better.

He asked the CBN to provide the ransom demanded by the bandits in order to save the children as the bandits will not go back on their threat. He appealed to the government and private institutions to also step into the matter and save the children.
