Buhari Meets Akande, Osoba, Others In Also Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, met with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Southwest, led by Chief Bisi Akande.

The meeting, which took place in the President’s office in the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, held behind closed-doors.

Those in the visiting party included Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Prince Tajudeen Olusi and Dr. Abayomi Finnih.

All attempts to get a clue of what the meeting was all about or topic for discussion were unsuccessful as the visitors would not talk to State House Correspondents.

Police Constable Arrested In Kano For Sexually Exploiting Underage Girls

Sharia Police (Hisbah) has arrested a police constable identified as Basiru in Rumawa, Ungogo Local Government Area of the state after he was accused of sexually exploiting underage girls and women.

It was gathered that Basiru and his accomplice, one Jamilu, now at large, used a house in Rumawa area where they allegedly lured girls and women for their ”nefarious activities.”

A Hisbah official, who confirmed the development under anonimity, said the suspect was arrested after members of the community raised the alarm about their activities.

It was further gathered that a 16-year-old girl, who was earlier declared missing by her family was found in the custody of the suspect.

A guardian of the teenager, Usman Ahmad, said she went missing for two days.

“They (Basiru and Jamilu ) built the house in Rumawa area and use it for sexual exploitation of underage girls and other victims. My daughter went missing for two days but was later found in the apartment of the constabulary. Basiru was arrested and his friend Jamilu, who is the owner of the house, is now at large.” Ahmad said.

The matter had been transferred to KwaKwachi Police Station for further investigation .

PDP Senator Elisha Abbo Dumps Party, Joins APC

The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the senate, Elisha Abbo has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party and joined the All Progressives Congress.

Senator Elisha Abbo’s defection was announced on Wednesday.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan announced Mr Abbo’s defection in a letter he read during Wednesday’s plenary session.

In the letter, Mr Abbo explained that his decision to defect to the APC is because of the mismanagement of the PDP in Adamawa State by Governor Umaru Fintiri.
