The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrested of five persons in connection with the murder of the MP for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford.
Although details about the suspects are quite scanty, available information indicates that there is a manhunt for other suspects in connection with the crime.
In a post on Twitter, the Ghana Police Service said, those who have been arrested are being taken through lawful police procedures.

Sources also say the suspects were picked up by investigators from the Central Regional Police Command from their hidey-hole in some communities within the region.
A little back story
Mr. Hayford, a member of parliament was shot and killed after his car was attacked on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region. This has put fear in the legislative body and has resulted in the deployment of police personnel to protect all parliamentarian in the country
