Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has fired James Nwafor, a former commander of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), from his administration.
Nwafor, a fearsome former SARS operative, has been accused of supervising the killings of innocent citizens. He was recently protested against following a statement he made after he killed an innocent young man and went ahead to boost that, nothing will happen to him.
Governor Obiano, announced Nwafor’s dismissal, after he joined the “EndSARS” protests in his state.
“Today, I joined youths of our dear state to say #EndPoliceBrutality and I support them because they did not only vote and defend their votes in my 21-over-21 victory, but all their requests are genuine and germane; and I obliged to honour them all,” Obiano wrote on Twitter.
Media consultant, Chinedu Ekeke, took to Twitter to celebrate James Nwafor’s dismissal, describing the sacked aide as the “notorious James Nwafor of Awkuzu SARS” , responsible for the deaths of innocent young men in Anambra.
