Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman of the presidential steering committee on COVID-19 who made the announcement on Wednesday June 30, said non-Nigerian passport holders and non-residents who visited Brazil, India, Turkey or South Africa within 14 days preceding travel to Nigeria, shall be denied entry into the country.

The statement read;

“Non-Nigerian passport holders and non-residents who visited Brazil, India, Turkey or South Africa within 14 days preceding travel to Nigeria, shall be denied entry into Nigeria. This regulation, however, does not apply to passengers who transited through these countries.

“The following measures shall apply to airlines and passengers who fail to comply with (a) above: airlines shall mandatorily pay a penalty of $3,500 for each defaulting passenger; and non-Nigerians will be denied entry and returned to the country of embarkation at cost to the airline.

COVID-19: FG adds South Africa to travel restriction list

The federal government has added South Africa to the list of countries restricted for travellers.

The decision was taken due to the surge in the country’s COVID-19 cases. Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) who made the announcement on Monday June 28, also disclosed that the federal government extended restrictions to travellers from Brazil, Turkey, and India for another four weeks.

The restrictions would be reviewed after four weeks. Mustapha said;

“The four major variants of concern are now classified as Alpha (UK), Beta (SA), Gamma (Brazil) and Delta (India).

“The Delta variant which has wreaked devastating havoc is not yet found in Nigeria hence the need to tighten our borders and be more vigilant. The WHO Country Representative and the DG NCDC will elaborate on this and the measures for mitigating a potential third wave.

“A few weeks ago, we announced additional measures to be met by passengers arriving from Brazil, Turkey and India. This action was due to the prevalence of variants of concern and the dangers associated with the importation of such virulent strain,” he added.

“The PSC has been reviewing these restrictions and is of the opinion that they should remain for another four weeks before it is further reviewed. South Africa has, however, been added to this category once more.”

The COVID-19 situation in African countries, including South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, Namibia and Uganda will also be closely monitored.

Depression made me travel to see my boyfriend – Priscilla Ojong, missing Cross River varsity student

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, on Monday stormed the Kaduna State Secretariat of the labour union and said their five-day warning strike calling for the reinstatement of sacked workers has commenced successfully with the total grounding of activities in the state.

Speaking at the rally, he said that they took the action because the Kaduna State Government’s action has caused untold hardship on those affected and their families.

“The railways are not working, the airport is shut down, fuel stations are locked, power is cut off and there is massive solidarity,” he said.

Wabba also accused the government of lying over several issues, including talks it said it had with the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

“The Government lied that they called us for a meeting yesterday. I actually received a call around 9pm yesterday for a meeting, I told them to make the invitation formal, but the person that called me later called back saying that the meeting had been cancelled.

“I have the number that called me and recorded the conversation,” he said.

The NLC President added that asides the sacked workers, the increment of school fees at the state-owned university is also an issue troubling the union because most of the children are wards of sacked workers.

“We gathered that about 70 per cent of the children at Kaduna State University (KASU) are Indigenes of Kaduna State and some of their parents have been sacked,” he added.

Speaking further, he said he has also received calls from market traders whose stalls have been demolished and commercial tricycle and okada riders complaining of exorbitant taxing from Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA).

Hundreds of workers and union members were seen with placards with the inscriptions such as: “El-rufai, enough is enough, stop mass sack, workers are not slaveS.”

DAILYPOST recalls that the Kaduna State Council of the NLC, penultimate week, had resolved to down tools for five days from Sunday, May 16, as proposed by the National Secretariat, to serve as warning over the sacking of over 4,000 workers in the state; hike in school fees of state-owned tertiary institutions among other issues.

Silicon Valley Guru Affected by the Fulminant Slashed Investments

We woke reasonably late following the feast and free flowing wine the night before. After gathering ourselves and our packs, we headed down to our homestay family’s small dining room for breakfast.

Refreshingly, what was expected of her was the same thing that was expected of Lara Stone: to take a beautiful picture.

We were making our way to the Rila Mountains, where we were visiting the Rila Monastery where we enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, mekitsi, local jam and peppermint tea.

Adderall and flirting with bulimia in an attempt to whittle herself

We wandered the site with other tourists

Yet strangely the place did not seem crowded. I’m not sure if it was the sheer size of the place, or whether the masses congregated in one area and didn’t venture far from the main church, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by tourists in the monastery.

City Guide for Vienna

Headed over Lions Bridge and made our way to the Sofia Synagogue, then sheltered in the Central Market Hall until the recurrent (but short-lived) mid-afternoon rain passed.

Feeling refreshed after an espresso, we walked a short distance to the small but welcoming Banya Bashi Mosque, then descended into the ancient Serdica complex.

We were exhausted after a long day of travel, so we headed back to the hotel and crashed.

I had low expectations about Sofia as a city, but after the walking tour I absolutely loved the place. This was an easy city to navigate, and it was a beautiful city – despite its ugly, staunch and stolid communist-built surrounds. Sofia has a very average facade as you enter the city, but once you lose yourself in the old town area, everything changes.

Clothes can transform your mood and confidence. Fashion moves so quickly that, unless you have a strong point of view, you can lose integrity. I like to be real. I don’t like things to be staged or fussy. I think I’d go mad if I didn’t have a place to escape to. You have to stay true to your heritage, that’s what your brand is about.

Flying Over the Grand Canyon with a Helicopter

We woke reasonably late following the feast and free flowing wine the night before. After gathering ourselves and our packs, we headed down to our homestay family’s small dining room for breakfast.

Refreshingly, what was expected of her was the same thing that was expected of Lara Stone: to take a beautiful picture.

We were making our way to the Rila Mountains, where we were visiting the Rila Monastery where we enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, mekitsi, local jam and peppermint tea.
