Photos: Hon. Aponkye signs JJ Rawlings book of condolence – Netizens react

Failed assemblyman Hon. Aponkye real name Nana Adabor Ibrahim Isaah Ampim has became the latest figure to sign the book of condolence opened for the late former president Jerry John Rawlings.

The disappointed assembly member candidate for ‘Adukrom Nima electoral area’ could be seen well dressed in a ‘JJ Rawlings’ customised cloth as he took his turn to sign the book.

The photos was first sighted on the timeline of Accra-based GhOne Television.

The late president Jerry John Rawlings passed on last week Thursday at the Korle Bu teaching hospital after battling a short illness which kept him in the hospital for a week.

After his death, news went viral that he dead of the deadly Coronavirus aka COVID-19 but his spokes person Kofi Adams has come out to rubblish the claims saying JJ Rawlings died of Malaria and not coronavirus.

Recall that the husband of Regina Daniels granted an interview with BBC and disclosed that his 6th wife Regina Dnaneils is aware he can marry another wife because she is not the last. He also disclosed that he grew up in a polygamous home and sees nothing wrong with it because it’s part of the Igbo culture.

Kidnapped Chinese expatriate regains freedom after four days in captivity



The Chinese expatriate who was kidnapped by gunmen in Ado-Ekiti, has been freed after four days in captivity

The Chinese man simply identified as Wang, was one of the Engineers handling the dualisation of the new Ado-Iyin road.

He was abducted last Friday evening, November 27, at the site. His kidnappers also killed a policeman attached to him.

A source close to the road construction company told Vanguard the abductee was released around 11 pm on Tuesday, Dec 1, after payment of N100 million ransom.

He explained that the ransom was collected at a place in Kwara state and the expatriate was released around Ilawe-Igede road in Ekiti state.

He said: “The Chinese was released very late yesterday (Tuesday) after payment of ransom to the kidnappers.

“The N100 million was taken to a bush in Kwara state where the kidnappers collected and confirmed it before the man was released here at a very difficult location along Igede-Ilawe road.”

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ekiti state ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed to Vanguard that the Chinese expatriate has been released but denied payment of ransom.

He revealed that the release was made possible after a serious manhunt launched on the kidnappers by security operatives.
