Teacher allegedly rapes 13-year-old girl to death in Bayelsa

The 30-year-old teacher, in the school located in Toroegbeni, Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was said to have waylaid and molested the girl twice in March 2020 near the community stream where she had gone to take her bath, The Nation reports.

The father of the girl, Mr. Pinaowei Gana, said the girl did not initially report the abuse until she took ill.

“She kept it to herself and was bleeding little by little until two months later, when we noticed some strange smell while she was sick. We took her to a local massage therapist and he told us that the child has been defiled and infected.

“We took her back to tell my landlord and some elders who questioned her, and she confirmed it was the teacher. The teacher pleaded that I should not go to the police but that he will pay for her treatment and settle with the family.

He took her to a private hospital in Opolo where she was admitted for over a week. But he came back and discharge the child without doctor’s advice and dumped her with me. Two days later, the girl died,” he explained.

The deceased father also confirmed that after he raised alarm over the death of her child, “the accused and his entire family packed out of the area.”

The father to the accused however offered to and deposited the corpse of the girl at a mortuary along Amassoma Road pending the resolution of the matter.”

In a twist of events, the alleged rapist, after owning up before family and compound chiefs that he raped the deceased and paid her hospital bill, made a U-turn by filing a report at the police area command in Sagbama over alleged threat to his life by the deceased’s father.

Already, some civil society groups including the Girl Response Initiative Team set up by the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Gloria Diri, and the DOF Foundation led by Barr. Dise Ogbise-Erhisere have vowed to take over the matter.

H.E President Akufo-Addo in a video going viral is seen receiving $40,000 bribe from 2 visitors (we are told they are affiliated to a government official) who came to is office.

In less than a week Ghana goes to polls. But events coming up before the election is not the best.

In recent times, following the resignation of Martin Amidu from the office of the Special Prosecutor, Akufo-Addo has seen ‘no peace’ over corruption allegations.

According to Martin Amidu, Akufo-Addo is the mother serpent of corruption, a statement that sparked serious controversy across the country.

In our gatherings from footage obtained, Ahalji Abass is said to have sent a delegation to see Nana Addo and they were led to the president by Dr Agyei Bawuah, Ghana’s ambassador to the United States.

In his company, a woman and a man were introduced as wife and brother of the director of Urban roads, Alhaji Abass Awolu.

The man who went with the woman explained that their mission was to mediate on behalf of Ahalji Abass because people envy and want him to be sacked from his position.

After the visitors had long talks with the President, the man stood up with a brown envelope containing the amount of $40,000 and handed it over to Akufo-Addo.

NB: The $40,000.00 bribe, according to gatherings, is to cease the constant calls for the removal of Alhaji Abass Awolu from office as the director of Urban Roads.

Comedian Seyi Law has dished out a reply to investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo after she apologized to him and some other celebrities via Twitter.

Recall, in 2017, Seyi told Punch that Olunoloyo was bullying his daughter calling her obese and diabetic.

“It is obvious that Kemi has decided to bully my daughter. Bullies usually fight people who are within their age bracket and people who have the same body size as them. For her to attack my daughter only means that she is unwell,” he said.

“Who bullies a young child? Never have I seen someone her age bully a child as young as my daughter who is barely a year old.”

The popular comedian however has now set grudges aside after the journalist apologised and reached out to him. He shared a picture of Dr. Olunoloyo, saying they have both put their diffrences aside and let love lead.

“Dr. Kemi Omololu Olunloyo. I want to appreciate you for always reaching out to me and the family. We have had our differences and we have also put it behind us,” he wrote.

“You have taught me that we can amends when we make mistakes and live beyond our pasts. Thank you for being an amazing soul.”
