Host and comedian of the “The Daily Show” Trevor Noah has been announced as the host for the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy made the statement hours before the nominees for the upcoming show are exhibited.

“Despite the fact that I am extremely disappointed that the GRAMMYs have refused to have me sing or be nominated for best pop album, I am thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event,” Noah said in a statement.

“I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, I’m not trying to catch Corona). See you at the 63rd GRAMMYs!”

Harvey Mason jr., chair and interim president/CEO of the Recording Academy, said: “With a knack for keeping viewers engaged and entertained, Trevor is the perfect choice to lead us through what’s sure to be an incredible evening full of music, unforgettable moments, unity and inspiration. He is a dynamic host, comedian and personality, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Grammy stage as host of Music’s Biggest Night for the first time.”

George Cheeks, CBS Entertainment Group president and CEO, added: “Trevor’s comedy talents, engaging energy and unique perspective make him the perfect host for the Grammys. At the same time, it’s very exciting to have one of our biggest ViacomCBS stars center stage for one of CBS’ marquee events. With Trevor hosting and ‘The Late Late Show’s’ Ben Winston producing, it’s yet another example of our combined company’s power in music, entertainment, and the biggest live events.”

LGBTQ activist, Amara, has advised women to avoid splitting bills with men in the name of gender equality.

She explained that men make more money because they have more power in society, therefore they should keep paying the bulk of the bills until there’s a balance in earning power.

She wrote: “Do not split bill with a man. Not yet. Men are still the more empowered specie. splitting bills now will only make men richer and more empowered. and also, life is bigger than men or women. so men should pay everytime. cause statistics say men have more power and money.”

She added: “Dear men, if you want to split bills with women. then join the chat. women want to pay. we like power too. we want it. this is why we should all be feminists. this is why we should all want equality for all humans. power for all humans. money and job opportunities for everyone!”

She wrote in another post: “I’m listening to @Blaise_21 talk about men and I’m just here thinking ‘thank jah sey I no dey fuck this specie’ men are honestly one of the worst things that has happened and happens to other species.”
