‘We need jobs not food’- Moment youth in Damango reject NPP’s Abu Jinapors’ bags of rice (Video)

A video is presently circulating online that captures the moment some young men in Damango rejected bags of rice donated by Mr. NPP’s Samuel Abu Jinapor to mark Eid-ul-Adha.

The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail.

At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son.

This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question. Therefore, Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.

In the video, the angry youth could be seen returning the food items the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Damongo brought to them in a pickup truck.

They reportedly said they need jobs to solve the high rate of unemployment and not bags of rice he donated.
