The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has charged Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai to do more action and talk less against the fight against bandits and Boko Haram in the state.
Recall that some gunmen kidnapped Pastor Kayode barely 24 hours after the abduction of some Bethel Baptist High School students in Kaduna State.
CAN President, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, issued a statement where he lamented about the incessant rate of abductions in Kaduna State and tasked the leadership of the country to go after the bandits with weapons and not do so on paper.
Ayokunle said: Kaduna has become quite terrible because of the uncouth, unbridled and acidic statements credited to Governor El-Rufai who appears to be talking too much than acting!”
“They have turned themselves to beasts amidst us, thus causing pain and sending many to early graves”,
“For God’s sake, what did the students they kidnapped do against them? We hope they repent of this evil because they will never escape the judgement of God.”
Meanwhile, CAN General Secretary, Joseph Daramola in a statement intimated that the same government that went to extreme lengths to rearrest the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is capable of using the same energy in rescuing the kidnapped pastor.
The statement partly read: “Why should the government leave Nigerians to be at the mercy of the insurgents, bandits and kidnappers? What is the essence of having a government in place?
“The government that did everything to ensure that IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu was brought back to the country is strong enough to stop these criminalities if the political will is there.
“Mr. President, where shall we go from here? Have the criminals taken over where there is legitimate government? Though we are praying continuously everyday, we know faith without hard work from the side of the government is vain.
