Zamfara Goldfields Don’t Belong To Government – Nuruddeen Isa, Commissioner

Published

on

The Zamfara State Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Solid Minerals, Dr. Nuruddeen Isa, said the state government did not own any gold field.

Addressing journalists in his office on Wednesday, Isa said, the state government was not directly involved in mining activities as reported by the media.

He said, “The state government doesn’t own any portion of the goldfields throughout the state and is not involved in mining activities.”

The commissioner maintained that the state government only used to buy the gold from the illegal miners in order to prevent the commodity from being smuggled out of the country or sold out to bandits.

“What the state government does is to buy the gold so that it doesn’t fall into wrong hands who in return sell it outside the country and purchase weapons for the bandits.”

He stressed, however, that the state government has currently banned the mining activities in the state, adding that, “anybody who wants to venture into mining activities should obtain a permit from the federal government”.

The commissioner said mineral resources belonged to the federal government, as such, anybody who wants to partake in mining activities must obtain a license from the Federal government.

“Women are more than baby making machines”

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Khafi Kareem, as taken a swipe at those who expect nothing more than a baby from her, as she stated that women are more than baby making machines.

BBNaija Khafi Kareem_ “Women are more than baby making machines”

Many social media users have for some time now been ‘watching the womb’ of the reality TV star, as some flood her comment section with congratulatory messages for “being pregnant” with their first child.

Taking to social media to address those social media users, Khafi Kareem shared a lengthy post, as she dismissed claims she is pregnant and also asked people to stop putting such pressure on women.

See what she wrote below;

”The way I’m looking at the next person who drops a pregnancy comment on my post. Continue reading if you don’t want to get BLOCKED. (I’m not joking).

I’ve ignored them for the longest now but according to the womb watchers on social media I have been pregnant for over a YEAR. So let me get this off my heart. Some people have flat stomachs naturally and some people have big stomachs naturally. The latter is ME. And when I’m on my period it is even BIGGER. I don’t owe anyone a flat stomach but still I try to suck in my belly in every single picture and sometimes I do it better than others. The worst is that even when I’m proud of my ‘sucking in skills’ on a particular picture there is always SOMEONE who still comments something about pregnancy. This is a habit that HAS TO STOP.

First of all, women are more than baby making machines. A woman’s fertility or decision to start a family is for her to decide, not for you to comment on in every single picture… Must our stomachs always be the first thing you look at??

Secondly, I’m not just speaking up for myself but for women in general. You may mean well when making pregnancy remarks but it is not always a compliment. For women who have had miscarriages, have been trying unsuccessfully for a baby, or simply conscious about their weight it can be very distressing, triggering and also puts a lot of undue pressure on them. So unless someone has announced a pregnancy or told you then please be nice and DONT COMMENT OR CONGRATULATE them on one.

Trust me when the time is right I welcome pregnancy (twins please Lord!) and starting a family at God’s time. But until I’ve said I’m expecting please stop with the pregnancy comments. I’ll have no patience for them anymore and any one who writes such comments will get BLOCKED.

To those who mean well, thank you so much, I do love you all But to the amebos please be amebos elsewhere . It’s pressure enough being a woman, so let’s not add to it.”

I planned defection to APC with Anyim and NASS members – Umahi

Published

Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has revealed that he planned his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim and some National Assembly members from the state.

Speaking at an APC stakeholders meeting in Abakaliki, Umahi said Anyim backed out of the plan because he (Umahi) went to see President Buhari over the defection plan without carrying him along.

The Governor who revealed that the only grievance of the NASS members and other leaders was that he joined APC before them, added that the plan was for Anyim and other leaders to join him in APC two weeks after he must have successfully defected.

He said;

“They were planning to ambush me, but it is difficult to catch the air.”

On allegation of Anyim giving him N5bn to pursue his dream of becoming Governor of Ebonyi state in 2015, Umahi said;

“I was a deputy Governor, somebody occupying the highest position from the Southeast (referring to Anyim) went and arranged for a N5bn naira loan for me to prosecute the presidential election for his government. I had to sell many of my properties to pay back that money.”

He also alleged that those attacking him now also fought former Governor Martin Elechi.

Umahi added;

“Let me tell you, I’m not afraid of anybody but I respect everybody. But I have said that if God sent me, this will be the last fight in this state.

“All these people that came together to fight me, they collect contracts, they collect monthly pay, they collect vehicles. And when they are asked to bring people that worked for us, they will bring their wives, children and relations.

“Now, they are dressing words for us. We are in chapter one, in Chapter two, I will publish all that I have done for the leaders of this state.”
